Are you or your child feeling sad, anxious, or angry? Is there stress at home, school, or work? Are you or your child having difficulty in relationships? We can address these topics and more together in a session focused on supporting you or your child in improving overall well-being and goal achievement.
I am a clinical intern at Better Mental Health Services, and am currently in the final year of obtaining my masters degree in mental health counseling from Northwestern University. I am studying the Child & Adolescent specialty there, and hope to work with young children as a child-centered play therapist after licensure. I am currently accepting clients of all ages with a focus on young children and teens, and will be supervised by Brandi Strader throughout my internship.
I work to provide an accepting, nonjudgmental space for clients where each individual is valued unconditionally. We can explore together how your past may impact your present, and how to increase mindfulness and calm in your everyday life.
I tailor my approach to each unique client, but generally my counseling approach is psychodynamic. This means that sessions may focus on uncovering unconscious thoughts and feelings, and their impact on you, at your own pace. In this way, I can support you as you grow in self-knowledge, decision-making abilities, and healthy relationships with others. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques in sessions for symptom management, increased psychological flexibility, and helping clients practice coping skills.
