Hi! I’m Samantha (or Sam), and I’m so happy you’re here! I use she/her pronouns and I would love to know yours. I approach therapy in a collaborative style; I may be the licensed one in the room, but you know you the best.
My approach to therapy is rooted in a person-centered approach. This means that I would act more as a guide during sessions. I always liked the analogy that you’re the driver and I’m like the GPS providing some direction. I believe that the therapeutic process is unique to each person and situation. I commonly use techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused, and other techniques when applicable.
Outside of therapy, I like to relax and explore my hobbies. I’m currently working through my to-be-read list, and I’m on the hunt for the newest Lego set to build. Other days I’m lounging with my family, friends, and puppy!
